Graphic design in French-speaking Switzerland
A project by Schönherwehrs
Opening Thursday 24 March 2011 at 6pm
Panorama, a project developed by Schönherwehrs – a visual communication agency based in Geneva – in collaboration with Katya García-Antón, is about practices and recent productions in graphic design in French-speaking Switzerland. The exhibition aims in particular to look beyond the common perception of graphic design as a purely commercial product and to highlight its impact on culture in general. The exhibition will therefore emphasise its links to contemporary art and the importance of the creative process in graphic production.

The American artist Taryn Simon’s first solo show in Switzerland introduces her most recent work, "Contraband", an analysis of JFK airport New York, one of the world's major transport hubs, and its passengers. Created as a result of an arduous and physically demanding sojourn at the airport requiring the artist to adjust to its relentless 24hr rhythm, "Contraband" functions as a time-capsule of early 21st century global experience.

COLLECTIF FACT
4.11.2011 – 15.01.2012
This exhibition explores many chapters of the work of the collective, from when they very started out to
their most recent works: The Centre proposes a neither chronological nor organized in a hierarchy
journey in the wide creative panel of the collective, from electronic arts to video.
In using this hybridization of the forms, the collective makes boundaries between those fields
irrelevant, avoiding classification of the different media.
DAY DEDICATED TO ELECTRONIC ARTS
SATURDAY 5.11.2011.
