Alfredo Aceto

Refaire le Portrait

Opening: January 29, 2015 at 6 p.m.

Alfredo Aceto was born in 1991 in Turin. He graduated in 2013 from the Ecole Cantonale d‘art de Lausanne (ECAL), and still lives and works in Lausanne. His work is tangled up in historic as well as personal anecdotes and art historical references.

For his exhibition and his residence at the Centre, Alfredo Aceto will specially readapt his “clocks” series. In the this series, the artist reactivated an anecdote of Walter Benjamin, holding that during the French Revolution soldiers would shoot at clocks in villages in order to "stop time". Aceto also wants to work on the history of the Centre, and on the special editions offered by the artists who have shown their work at the Centre in recent years.
